WELCOME MESSAGE

The field of aortic valve intervention is ever changing!

While conventional full sternotomy surgical aortic valve replacement had been proven to be the gold standard of treatment in patients with aortic valve pathologies for decades in multiple studies, minimally invasive aortic valve replacement has evolved and been widely adopted as a viable alternative in many centres around the world. More importantly, transcatheter aortic valve implantation has replaced surgical aortic valve replacement in many inoperable and high risk cases, and, now extending its role in intermediate and low risk patients. We believe cardiac surgeon, as an integral member of HEART team, should actively participate in full spectrum of aortic valve interventions. This webinar serves to provide the audiences an update on the recent advances in aortic valve interventions including Rapid Deployment Valve system, Minimally Invasive AVR, TAVI in intermediate and low risk patients, etc.

We hope the audiences will enjoy the excellent talks from experts in the field, learn from the video-sharing session and participate in the interactive on-line discussions.
