Dr. Cui obtained the PhD of cell biology in 2019. From 2019 to 2023, Dr. Cui conducted postdoctoral research at the Cancer Institute of Shenzhen Peking University Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Medical Center. From February 2023 to September 2023, he worked as an assistant researcher at the Shenzhen Bay Laboratory. In October 2023, he joined the Department of Surgery, Chinese University of Hong Kong, as an Assistant Professor.

Dr. Cui's main research direction is the study of genetic variations in tumors, especially esophageal cancer. He mainly engages in bioinformatics and integrated analysis of multi-omics, including genomics, transcriptomics, and epigenetics. In addition, Dr. Cui has been working in cancer research for over 10 years. In the field of esophageal cancer, he has constructed multi-omics variation landscape and subtyping, and deeply explored the genetic variation mechanisms of ESCC, including mutations, copy number variations, and structural variations, committing to find potential cancer targets and screening biomarkers. Dr. Cui has published around 30 papers in well-known journals such as Nature Communications, Cell Research, Cancer Cell, Am J Hum Genet, Signal Transduct Target Ther. At present, his research has also funded by the Shenzhen City, Guangdong Provincial, as well as the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
